Whether you're a passionate gamer or just want to reminisce about the days of blowing on Super Nintendo cartridges, the OXO Museo del Videojuego in Madrid (OXO Videogame Museum) is brilliant. We've been, and let me tell you, it's a place packed with nostalgia but also full of new discoveries.
The museum is located right in the heart of Madrid, just a stone's throw from Plaza Callao, so it's incredibly easy to find. You can also easily combine your trip with a stroll down the Gran Vía. The space itself is huge, over 1,600 square metres spread across several floors of an old 19th-century mansion, complete with decorated ceilings and a striking contrast between history and technology.

What's inside?
70 years of gaming history
From the very beginning, like 1958's Tennis for Two on an oscilloscope, to classic consoles and arcade machines like Pong, Space Invaders, the Mega Drive, and so on.
Temporary exhibitions
A celebration of 30 years of PlayStation. For anyone who grew up with the classic PS1 startup screen, this part is a real treat. It features everything from the original 'brick' console from '94 right up to the PS5.
Interactive areas
It's not just about looking, you actually get to play! There's virtual reality, more modern games, and plenty of machines are free to play.
The gift shop
Of course, there's a section with gaming merch where you can grab anything from a little souvenir to a great gift for someone (or for yourself).
